It is made from nettles and therefore is a sustainble option as they are easy to grow without the use of chemicals. As ramie shares so many qualities with linen, including a lovely handle and soft drape it can be an ideal choice for curtains and other soft furnishings projects.
Ramie is an extremely strong fibe and is also breathable and highly absorbant making it the perfect cloth for dressmaking. With a weight of 255gsm it is the perfect mid weisght cloth for trousers, dresses, shirts and more!

C338 Muslin Double Cloth Crinkle White
£9.50 / MetreDouble Gauze is a lovely lightweight pure cotton fabric with a relatively loosely weave and a crinkled natural texture making it exceptionally breathable with a gorgeous soft handle. As the name suggests the fabric is made up of 2 layers of fine cotton similar to a lioght cheese cloth or muslin that are tacked together. The double layer reduces the transparency of the cloth and gives it a thicker more tactile finish. Our cloth is 126gsm and Oeko-Tex Standard, ideal for clothes, childrens/baby items, quilts etc.

Plain Cotton Poplin White CP0001
£6.00 / MetreThis plain 100% cotton is extremely popular with both dressmakers and crafters alike. It is a heavier weight than a lawn but more luxurious than your standard crafting cotton with its soft/smooth surface and 121gsm weight.
Many of our customer use it for making blouses, shirts, childrens clothes and for quilting/craft projects too. Cotton poplin is lovely to sew with and holds its shape beautifully in garments with gathers, pleats or puff sleeves for example. This poplin meets Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standards and free samples are available.
