Calico Fabric

Showing White

Calico fabric is an unbleached and often unfinshed cotton that originated from Calicut in India. The basic nature of this cloth makes it a cheap alternative to to other cottons so is often used to make toiles and mock-ups. Calico is a strong cotton, ideal for making bags as it can also be printed and dyed. Although it is often used in trial runs there is no reason why calico couldn't be used in soft furnishings and curtains to give a rustic feel.
