Dress Fabric

These simple, stylish fabrics are 100% cotton and are extremely popular with both dressmakers and crafters alike. With a soft, smooth handle and great drape this fabric is ideal for quilting, craft and clothing applications. Smooth finish 100% cotton prints in a weight perfect for both craft and clothing! It is a heavier weight than a lawn but more luxurious than your standard crafting cotton with its soft/smooth surface and 130gsm weight.

Many of our customers use it for making blouses, shirts, childrens clothes and for quilting/craft projects too. Cotton poplin is lovely to sew with and holds its shape beautifully in garments with gathers, pleats or puff sleeves for example.

This is an easy wash fabric which is quick to dry. Even with the stretch it is still simple to sew making it suitable for sewers of all levels.

Boiled wool gets its name from the production technique used to produce the fabric. It is easy to sew as it will not move around and does not fray. 

We would recommend using boiled wool to make coats and jackets but it can also be used to make skirts and structured dresses. This is a mid weight boiled wool so we would recommend having a free sample to see if it is suitable for you project.

Boiled wool is not only suitable for dressmaking it is also a popular choice for curtains and soft furnishings.

This lovely cotton jersey is printed with a classic Breton stripe. It is super soft yet heavy enough for a variety of dressmaking projects. The elastane content adds a great stretch and means your garments will not lose their shape of time.
