This lovely design is printed on a linen-look base cloth. This quality is perfect for making curtains, blinds and cushions. Many customer also use this for dress making projects - it is great for dungarees or dresses for example that need a structured fabric.

This lovely new collection of 100% viscose are made in France and meet the Okeo-Tex standard 100. Its composition gives its a light, soft and floaty feel but for a viscose this fabric isn't overly fluid, its finish is quite similar to a cotton lawn which will make it easy to sew and beautiful to wear.

This painted stripe jersey has a great weight and print perfect for any jersey project and is definitely one of my favourite dress making fabrics of the moment, this fabric is perfect for whipping up simple tops, dresses and trousers.

A new addition to the Textile Express Original Emporium. This fun, contemporary velvet designed by a local artist, will find its place in a country cottage, childrens bedroom and many others. With it's versatile qualities it's suitable for interior use like upholstery and soft furnishings, but it's also soft and drapy enough for you dressmaking and craft projects.

This patterned 100% cotton is extremely popular with both dressmakers and crafters alike. It is a heavier weight than a lawn but more luxurious than your standard crafting cotton with its soft/smooth surface and 121gsm weight. Many of our customer use it for making blouses, shirts, childrens clothes and for quilting/craft projects too. Cotton poplin is lovely to sew with and holds its shape beautifully in garmets with gathers, pleats or puff sleeves for example. This poplin meets Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standards and free samples are available.
