    Double Gauze is a lovely lightweight pure cotton fabric with a relatively loosely weave and a crinkled natural texture making it exceptionally breathable with a gorgeous soft handle. As the name suggests the fabric is made up of 2 layers of fine cotton similar to a lioght cheese cloth or muslin that are tacked together. The double layer reduces the transparency of the cloth and gives it a thicker more tactile finish. Our cloth is  126gsm and  Oeko-Tex Standard, ideal for clothes, childrens/baby items, quilts etc.

    This plain 100% cotton is extremely popular with both dressmakers and crafters alike. It is a heavier weight than a lawn but more luxurious than your standard crafting cotton with its soft/smooth surface and 121gsm weight.

    Many of our customer use it for making blouses, shirts, childrens clothes and for quilting/craft projects too. Cotton poplin is lovely to sew with and holds its shape beautifully in garments with gathers, pleats or puff sleeves for example. This poplin meets Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standards and free samples are available.

Muslin is also applied to the back of curtains or soft drapes/ Voiles to help give them form and preserve privacy. Also perfect for use in cookery for straining etc.
