Double Gauze is a lovely lightweight pure cotton fabric with a relatively loosely weave and a crinkled natural texture making it exceptionally breathable with a gorgeous soft handle.

As the name suggests the fabric is made up of 2 layers of fine cotton similar to a light cheese cloth or muslin that are tacked together. The double layer reduces the transparency of the cloth and gives it a thicker more tactile finish. Our cloth is 125gsm and ideal for clothes, childrens/baby items, quilts etc.

With a soft, smooth handle and great drape this fabric is ideal for quilting, craft and clothing applications. Smooth finish 100% cotton prints in a weight perfect for both craft and clothing! It is a heavier weight than a lawn but more luxurious than your standard crafting cotton with its soft/smooth surface and 130gsm weight.

Many of our customers use it for making blouses, shirts, childrens clothes and for quilting/craft projects too. Cotton poplin is lovely to sew with and holds its shape beautifully in garments with gathers, pleats or puff sleeves for example.
